Laser Applications
While you may not realize it, lasers are becoming a significant part of our everyday lives. Laser technology is often times overlooked because they are hidden within electronic devices. Just to name a few, CD/DVD players, laser printers & copiers, and bar code scanners at supermarkets. With the introduction of green lasers , visible lasers are now becoming essential tools in many occupations worldwide.
You may find the common red and green lasers in schools or your workplace. These are commonly used as presentation lasers (< 5mW). They are used by teachers or professionals mainly for conducting lectures or speeches where pointing to a blackboard or projector is needed. Our lasers are not sold as presentation lasers since their power exceeds the maximum (5mW) that is the class for the presentation laser pointers.
Visible lasers, namely green lasers are already essential tools for astronomers worldwide. A majority of our customers actually purchase our high power green lasers for this purpose. Because the actual laser beam is clearly visible, this creates a solid green line virtually touching the stars and constellations in the sky. They’re great for star parties and conducting lectures in astronomy or astrology. Astronomy lasers are also commonly mounted on telescopes to align the telescope to a specific star or location. Laser alignment is much easier than aligning through using the eyepiece.
You can also find the presence of lasers in commercial industries. SKYlasers recently cooperated with a large construction company building an 85 story building in the center of Shanghai, China. Each team leader was equipped with a 55mW green laser which helped point to distance objects during daytime hours. According to the project leader, “these lasers are perfect for marking and an excellent time saver. Instead of explaining the location of where you needed work done, you just point to it. Surprisingly, our lasers were visible even if we pointed to the top floors.”
The use of visible lasers are probably most publicized as being used as laser sights on guns. Only several years back, laser sights where just red dots that appeared on the target. Now, the entire laser beam is visible!

These lasers are being used in prototype weaponry for missile guidance and detection.
Medical Research: An essential tool for scientific research by universities and research facilities in the fields of photonics, chemistry and physics. Many acupuncture medical professionals have found our red and infrared portable lasers to be extremely effective in skin penetration.
