"By far the awesomest thing to do is just swing the beam around in the sky at night (NOT AT AIRPLANES). I tried to get some pictures (none of them turned out) BUT THE BEAM LOOKS LIKE IT GOES OFF TO INFINITY. You actually see the whole beam too. It's amazing. I know several people that read Geekologie got to play with it too so feel free to chime in if you want. I can't express how cool it feels to hold. It really is like a giant green lightsaber. Back me up here, guys. read more..."

"I remember when lasers were first introduced and the big hype and excitement they caused many children, including myself. The thing is, time has evolved since, and those old lasers don’t excite anymore and seem just like some cheap toy…until I got my hand on one of these Green Lasers from Skylasers, which are absolutely amazing and seem like they are on steroids. read more..."

In my testing, it’s powerful enough to:

  • • See the beam. Yes, you can see the beam indoors and outdoors at night, not just the spot.
  • • Point to items outdoors in broad daylight that are kilometers away.
  • • See the spot on low clouds.
  • • Point the beam to stars and other astronomy.
  • • Damage itself if used for more than 100 seconds per burst.
  • • Scare away that damned crow from the power pole outside my bedroom.

"Prior to SkyLasers reaching out to us, we never thought “man, I need a laser”. Having had this baby for a few weeks and really getting to know it, we can’t think of not having it handy. It can be used as an industrial tool, a creative paintbrush, the ultimate prankster or even it’s intended use– pointing at the night sky or at the focus of a group’s attention. read more..."

"When the laser is on low power, it is perfect for pointing out constellations and objects far across the skyline. When the laser is on high power, it is supposed to have all of the burning qualities that make these toys attractive for middle-age pranksters and physicists. So let’s go down the list of what this laser is supposed to do, and I will let you know how it performed on the tests I was willing (or able) to perform…read more..."

"But what we feel really makes this laser stand out from the rest is the ability to adjust the output, taking away some of that power when you wish. This allows you to potentially use the SKYlaser laser as just a regular laser during something like a presentation, without blinding everyone in the audience with the reflection off of the screen. read more..."

"The SKY Lasers Green Lasers (532nm) is truly a great device and is one-step ahead of its rivals. The idea of the two settings is great, but I do not know why anyone would want the laser pen on the high setting. However, when you do set it on high setting and point it at the sky, your friends are impressed with how far the beam travels. The low setting makes it ideal for presentations, which will be the main purpose of this laser. read more..."

"The construction of the unit feels solid. It has a 3 position switch at the rear of the unit which is switched using the included barrel key. In the red position the unit is off, in the green position the unit is in high power mode and in the yellow position the unit is in low power mode. It is nice to be able to change the unit to low power so that it can be used as a normal laser for presentations. The laser activation button action is precise and it is nice to have the LED confirmation of a active laser. read more..."

"SKYLasers are unique in a couple of ways. First off, the laser we received has an adjustable beam that lowers the intensity right down to a comfortable level making it usable for presentations but yet, it has the power when and if needed to light up the sky. Previously the amount of light hitting the presentation screen was just too bright to look at. By adjusting the beam down with the provided key it actually gives the laser a day to day function that’s useful. This alone makes the laser pen very unique and something I haven’t seen before from others in this niche. read more..."

"The Sky Lasers 125mW Laser is slightly different than some of the lasers we have seen previously, as it has an adjustable beam which lets you select either standard or high powered mode. The standard laser mode can be used for presentations to point things out on a notice board, whilst the high power laser mode can be used for start gazing, you need to wear special goggles in this mode as the laser is really strong. read more..."
