Q1: Are your lasers legal?

Yes, all SKYlasers momentary lasers and portable lasers are 100% legal to own and use within the United States. SKYlasers is a FDA certified manufacturer of high power laser goods. Our lasers are fully compliant with FDA safety standards and have been granted an accession number for the legal import of lasers into the United States. We do not sell or market our lasers are Class II generally used for presentations and amusement. Our lasers are for the laser enthusiasts, serious hobbiests and scientists.

Q2: What does "mW" stand for?

mW stands for milli-watt and is the power of a laser. The higher the power output, the brighter the laser will be. For detailed information, refer to our Laser Power page.

Q3: What is wavelength?

The wavelength of a laser determines the color of the laser. Wavelength is measured in nm or nano-meters. For example, SKYlasers green lasers have a wavelength of 532nm and red lasers have a wavelength of 650nm. For more information about wavelength, refer to our Laser Wavelength page.

Q4: Why are green lasers more expensive?

Green lasers are the brightest of all visible laser colors. While the exterior of our lasers are all very similar, the green laser diode within the laser is actually much more complex when compared to red lasers . For more information about how green lasers are made, visit our DPSS Laser page.

Q5: Do the lasers come with batteries?

Due to international shipping regulations, our lasers are not shipped with batteries. Our momentary lasers are powered by 2x AAA batteries and can be purchased at any convenience store. We recommend the use of name brand alkaline or lithium batteries such as Duracell and Energizer. Our portable lasers are powered by 1x 3.7V 18650 lithium rechargeable battery which is readily available online.

Q6: Which lasers are capable of burning?

While our high power lasers are extremely bright, only our higher powered models have the capability to burn. For more information, check out our page on Burning Lasers.

Q7: What is duty cycle?

The duty cycle is the amount of time you can leave the laser powered on. For momentary lasers , we recommend leaving it on for no more than 100 seconds at a time. After 100 seconds of use, please allow the laser to rest for at least 30 seconds.

SKYlasers portable lasers have a continuous duty cycle, that is, portable lasers can be powered on continuously without rest.

Q9: How do I clean the lens of my laser?

If your laser is emitting a laser beam is looks “scattered,” you may need to clean the lens of your laser. You will need two things to accomplish this: After preparing these two items, add a small amount of cleaning solution to the q-tip. Gently insert the q-tip through the aperture and placing it in direct contact with the lens of the laser module. Slowly and gently rub the surface in a circular motion. Remove the q-tip and allow the lens to dry for several minutes.

Q10: How do I purchase a laser?

You can purchase a laser directly online via our shopping cart system. After choosing your desired laser model, enter the quantity you wish to purchase. Upon doing so, click on the "Add to Cart" button and follow the instructions to check-out. Q11: What are my payment options?

We accept major credit cards such as Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover. All credit card information is entered on a fully secure, 128/256 bit encrypted page. We also accept payments via a paypal account. If you choose to pay via paypal, you will be automatically directed to paypal's secure server during the checkout process.

Q12: What are your shipping policies?

Our lasers are shipped worldwide via DHL or UPS express shipping. We offer a flat rate shipping cost of $9.99 per order for all USA customers. For customers outside the United States, a flat rate cost of $14.99 per order will apply. In most circumstances, order will arrive to you 3-4 days after the placement of order. Q13: Will I be taxed?

Absolutely not. You will not be charged any local or customs taxes.

Q14: How will I know if my order went through?

After making your payment, check your email. You should receive an order confirmation almost immediately.

Q15: Is there a warranty for my laser?

Yes, all SKYlasers laser products come with a standard manufacturers warranty. In fact, SKYlasers offers the longest warranty periods in the industry. For more information, please visit our Warranty Information page.

Q16: Is there a return policy?

Yes, if you are not satisfied with the product within 7 days of receiving it, return it for a full refund minus all shipping costs. Contact support@skylasers.com for additional information and procedures.
