2010 Laser Pointer Dual Lock Prototype

Feb 23, 2010 1:25:22 AM

Below are pictures of our 2010 red & green laser pointer prototype with Dual Lock Technology. The picture below is the front of the laser pointer. It would seem there are no differences as our previous models both have a LED indicator and a Power button. The difference is the front casing is now 1 solid metal piece. In our previous models, the head was actually split into two pieces (there is a silver ring between the warning stickers).

The below picture is where our "Dual Lock" technology comes in. As you know, it takes a certain amount of safety features to make a high power laser pointer "safe" for public use. The FDA requires class 3b lasers to have a key lock and a remote lock. Both locking features are included in our new line of laser pointers.

The locks are more apparant in the picture below where both locks have been removed. The side lock is the "key lock". The larger key is part of the remote lock feature. The remote lock gets its name from allowing the laser pointer to be turned on and off from a remote location. I will go over this more below.

The laser pointer will work only if both keys are inserted into the laser pointer. Notice in the picture below, there is an additional key not seen before. You may recognize this key as a feature of our portable laser units.

The remote lock is actually consisted of two separate keys. The circular key (without the red loop) is used when you do not need to operate the laser pointer remotely. Most people will never need to touch this key. Just keep the key inserted. If you need to operate the laser pointer remotely, you must first replace the remote lock as per the picture below with the key with the red wire loop. To control the laser pointer remotely, you simply cut the red loop and add you own power button externally.

Again, most people will not have to remove this key.  In fact, most will probably not need to remove either of these keys so you will always have the laser pointer on "working" mode. Our new line of laser pointers should be ready for sale in another 1-2 weeks!

2010 Red & Green Laser Pointers

Feb 9, 2010 8:29:27 AM

It seems we have not had the chance to update our blog section lately. This is because we've been very very busy working on our 2010 red and green laser pointers! Prior to these models, we actually purchased the outer laser pointer casing from a partnering manufacturer (the metal tube casing and battery cap). With the success of our laser pointers, the owner decided to purchase an entire line of machining hardware. At the moment, an entire section of our factory has been dedicated to machine shopping our own laser casings. This will give our factory more power to customize special lasers and of course, better control over the quality of our laser products.

As we're new to machining metal, we've hired a new set of staff dedicated to making laser casings. The new laser pointers will no longer utilize the red, yellow and green locking feature we have now. Instead, we've come up with a more convenient, more stable method of offering the same FDA required features. We'll introduce this technology as our "Dual Lock" feature. We'll post pictures of this soon! Stay Tuned!

We should have this implemented in the first half of the year.

2) More Product Selection -2009 has been a test period of us. While we have been producing OEM lasers for more than 10 years, 2009 was our first year where a major focus was placed in the online market. It has been a enriching learning experience for us and we're glad to have taken this step. We have met many friends, astronomer, and technology blog eidtors. I want to take this time for thanking them for reviewing our products and giving us constructive feedback. In 2010, we will expand our product lines to offer more innovative products such as, blue lasers, laser sights, party lasers, and more. Check back often!

3) Improved lasers - What's more product selection if our products are not up to par? 2010 will be a time for us to reflect on issues we encountered in 2009 and improve upon them. Even though we will be introducing new product lines, we'll also be updating our current laser pointers and portable lasers. Through quality products and reasonable prices, we believe we will come out on top to be the #1 selling laser company in 2010.

4) Increased Communication - In our 2010 web update, you've noticed an addition of a newsletter section. We plan to offer tips, product news, and contest via this so SIGN UP! We'll also be updated our FAQ or Customer Service section to offer our customer and laser enthusiasts better understanding of lasers and laser pointers. This way, they will be fully informed before making a purchase. Don't forget, we'll have our toll free hotline soon so if you are unsure of anything, just call us!

During our company year end meeting, we went over nearly 20 points of improvements for 2010. We want you to know we're an active company with an aggressive goal of being number one. This is the year we will focus on branding our products and really marketing ourselves to be the number one source of high powered lasers and laser pointers. This is going to be a great year for us.

2010 Portable Laser Pictures

Dec 18, 2009 7:40:59 PM

Here are some pictures of our 2010 portable lasers! I know they look very similar to our older models, however, if you look closely, you will find differences! The coating has been updated on the casing. This special coating makes the portable laser nearly scratch proof. That is, the outer black coating will not scratch easily even by keys and knives. On top of the physical changes, the internal scructure of laser has been completely changed from the bottom up. With the re-vamp, our 2010 portable lasers are now more powerful, more stable and just fun to have around. A major upgrade from prior portable lasers and those on the market today is the auto-shutoff function. A sensor closely monitors the laser diode within the portable laser. If the laser diode over heats, your portable laser will automatically shut off protecting the portable laser from damage.
